Razzle Dazzle Excerpt
Age: 8+
Live Action, Darren Ashton, Australia, 2007
Running Time: 5 min

This preview features several clips from our 2008 opening night film, Razzle Dazzle: A Journey Into Dance, an Australian mockumentary that skewers the absurdities of the intense competition between kids on the youth dance troupe circuit--and the hyper-involved parents who live through them.

Here you can watch trailers and excerpts of films from our DVD Guide, theatrical tours and more!

Who knew that a little glitter and spandex could change the world?!

this was a great movie. i still cant get the soundtrack out of my head, even though the songs by themselves are kind of annoying.

Are you kidding me? Recommended for viewers aged 8 to 10 years? This gaff puts your whole selection process in suspect. I imagine that your reviewers have never spent any appreciable length of time (2-3 years min.) in classrooms with this age group. Perhaps if the trailer hadn't spent so much time on just a couple of dance numbers, this comment might have been more even-handed. Sidebar: The subject matter seems very interesting for parents and teachers.

As somone who owns an art-house cinema and with a step-daughter who owns a dance school, I loved this short and would love to play it at my cinema. Politically correct? Probably not, but if I were to introduce it as a combination Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Best In Show for a younger audience I might at least frame it in a suitably ironic context.
